The NAIW-IAO has been
a great way to network with others in the insurance industry. The meetings
I have attended have been informative and insightful.
– Kelly Koehn, CPCU
I have worked with ANPAC for almost
30 years, and ANPAC has been my sole insurance experience. NAIW/IAO has
been wonderful to be able to associate with other insurance professionals.
It also has given me the opportunity to broaden my viewpoint as to what
other insurance people go through; how often we all share the same problems
and issues that need to be dealt with; and best of all, to establish
friendships with women and men that I probably would never have met if it
wasn't for NAIW/IAO. I wear the CPIW designation proudly.
–Josette Tilley, AIS, AIM, API, CPIW
I joined NAIW early
in my career. I met many wonderful women (it was women only in those days)
who mentored me over the years. It was because of these mentors that I
started taking INS classes and later CPCU. Now 30 years later, I find it
fulfilling to mentor and educate others. But the greatest benefit of all is
meeting and working with others from all walks of insurance, from all over
town, all over the State, Region and Nation. --

This is my third
year in IAO. I was hooked after the first state meeting I attended in
Springfield. It was very professional. I was really impressed with the
fact that young and older professional women worked so well together. I
quickly became involved by becoming an officer and attended most of the
meetings. I believe you get out of an organization what you put into it.
When I recruit new members I always tell them not to join if they don’t
intend on becoming involved. One of the easiest ways to becoming involved
is by attending the meetings. Our association offers interesting and fun
meetings, and educational classes. As professional women we support our
community. It has been my pleasure to become acquainted with other
professional women within our association.

I joined IAO to meet others in the
industry outside of my own company. It’s nice to have friends in other
areas of the business and to learn from them. I’ve seen members advance and
move on to other companies because of the contacts they’ve made in IAO.
Keeping up with current issues helps to keep you on top of things and can
give you the edge. IAO has given me the opportunity to work on my
leadership skills which helps me to be better at my job.
--Carla Brixey, CPCU, AIS, CPIW
The NAIW/IAO
has made me the "insurance" person I am today. This organization has given
me the confidence, in my career, that I can do anything I set my mind to do.
